Clara Juong is currently a senior who is majoring in Interactive Media at NYU Abu Dhabi.
As an aspiring designer, illustrator, and coder, Clara has come a long way from her original choice of medium, which was traditional illustration. Her artistic realm now spans vast digital mediums, including live coding visuals and audio, animation film, as well as applied skills in UI/UX and graphic design.
She is currently actively leveraging this expertise as a graphic designer for departments like the Cornille biology lab and Interactive Media at NYUAD. Additionally, she serves as a senior designer editor for The Gazelle, where she continually hones her eye for professional layout and visual storytelling across various student organization needs.
Clara’s design philosophy is rooted in the belief that effective communication can be reached at the intersection of artistic creativity and technological innovation.
As a designer who comes from multi-disciplinary design backgrounds, Clara strives to create experiences that are not only visually compelling but also dynamic, functional, and with purpose. And because she views technology not merely as a tool, but as a flexible medium for systemic and creative exploration, Clara’s works often try to close the gap between technology and art as much as possible.
In a world where choices are often made without deep consideration, Clara aspires to create her works in a way where her process of combining logic and art together is evident in her designs, with her works being intentionally crafted to make the user think and consider the 'why' and the 'how' of the artistic and structural choices presented. Ultimately, Clara aims to foster meaningful interaction and clarity, creating systems that simplify complex ideas and push the boundaries of digital possibility.
